  • Question: Where is it made?

    Answer: Perlite comes from numerous Perlite plants throughout the world, including a sizeable ore deposit in western Turkey, USA, China and Latin America.

  • Question: I'm wanting to use this for a mix with my carnivorous plants, would it be safe? I don't want to burn them

    Answer: Yes, our organic Perlite would be perfect for Carnivorous plants! Happy Plantings!

  • Question: Can I mix it with peat? If so, how can I do it

    Answer: The best mix would be 40% Perlite and 60% for cuttings or seed starting!

  • Question: Does it absorb water?

    Answer: Perlite is used in the garden to prevent soil compaction, improve aeration and retain moisture. ... To answer your question, YES, is does absorb water. However, Perlite will dry out too rapidly for water-loving plants.

  • Question: How is it organic? My understanding was that Perlite is a plastic based product?

    Answer: Perlite is a mined mineral which is allowed by the National Organic Standards Board for use in certified organic agriculture. It is not plastic.

  • Question: What's the difference between organic Perlite and regular Perlite?

    Answer: Absolutely none. Perlite is a MINERAL. Organic means from living matter.

  • Question: How is this an organic product?

    Answer: It's not organic!! It's a rock! Organic is characteristic of, pertaining to, or derived from living organisms. It is ok for use in organic growing.

  • Question: Why there should be a warning that the dust is hazardous to lungs and eyes?

    Answer: It is best to use Perlite outdoors or wear a dust mask if mixing with soil indoors. Whenever possible, mix outdoors because it’s very dusty, so not good to inhale it.

  • Question: is this Perlite fine or coarse? Looking for fine as I'm using it for seed starting. Thank you!

    Answer: Yes, this is fine Perlite! This Perlite will work great, we use the same Perlite in our seed start mix.

  • Question: Does this work for indoor potted plants without drainage holes?

    Answer: Yes, this can work for pots with and without drainage holes!
